Medway Maritime Hospital
A comprehensive temporary works solution was developed, including a scaffolded temporary roof over the building, crash deck protection, debris netting and segregation measures between the occupied office accommodation and the construction zone.
The existing roof was removed and replaced, with associated repairs carried out to the building envelope and rainwater goods. Internal strip-out works were undertaken to facilitate the installation of safety netting, with lighting and fire alarm services reinstated on completion.
Close coordination with the hospital team ensured the works were delivered safely, while maintaining continuity of operations and access for staff and building users.
The completed works restored the integrity of the building envelope, providing a watertight and durable roof structure that supports the hospital’s long-term maintenance strategy.
Through careful planning and delivery, the project was completed safely within a live healthcare environment, enabling previously vacant areas to be reoccupied while minimising disruption to one of Kent’s busiest hospital facilities.
