Fire Brigade - Privacy for all Batch One

Washroom and dormitory refurbishment works across five operational fire stations
Sinden was appointed by the London Fire Commissioner to deliver washroom and dormitory refurbishment works across five operational fire stations as part of the ‘Privacy for All’ programme.

The works focused on creating separate, upgraded WC and dormitory facilities, alongside refurbishment of showers and associated areas, improving privacy, functionality and overall welfare provision.

The works are being delivered within live fire stations, with crews remaining fully operational and requiring immediate access to facilities at all times.

Maintaining functionality, minimising disruption and ensuring no impact on emergency response has been critical throughout.

Our Approach

We have worked closely with station teams from the outset, taking time to understand shift patterns and day-to-day operations. This allowed works to be carefully phased so that facilities remained available throughout the programme.

Areas were taken out of use in a controlled sequence, with clear communication in place and temporary arrangements provided where needed. Mechanical and electrical upgrades, along with new partitions, ceilings and finishes, were delivered through careful planning and active site management across all locations.
